My first ever try at the Star

This was my first attempt on The star, but my girls were amazing. I did this on My 5 year old
This pic is my lil girl, she has long curly hair,

                                                              Again at a different angle
This is her friend, she has short straight slick hair
                                                                        both girls

This style was actually kinda easy and only took about 8 min for the short straight hair, and about 15 for the long curly hair.

I promise my directions will get better :)

We needed for this style 15 small elastics, and 3-5 bobby pins depending on the hair,
Step1. 5 elastics needed
we started at the tip top of the head (almost like a baby ponytail)  way up on the top, leave enough to make two side pony's right by the ears and then two on the the bottom follow the lil lines on the child's neck. Move the bottom two over a hair or two.

step 2. 10 elastics needed
You should have 5 silly looking pony tails now.
take each of those and either braid or just part them into two.
these will be your lines for your star.

step3.
now you should have to lil braids or ponies  (2 from each original pony)
here is where i hope my directions don't mess you up
take the tip top braid or pony on the left take it down and connect it with the top pony from the ear pony ( i then took these elastics out and connected them just with one elastic, when you do this you should see how your star is going to form, take the second ear pony and connect it with the next nearest lower pony then connect that other half with the next half and keep going around the head like this, when you finish take all the ponies and put them in one last elastic in the middle of the head you can either bun it leave it out whatever you think looks best.

the bobby pins were used with the curly hair if you notice i kindly fanned it and loved it :) it came out so cute....
now the ribbon, i used green as for the Christmas theme, but any color would be cute. I used a plastic crafting needle, (since Ive started this is my favorite tool for hair) They are like 1.50 at any crafting store for 3 in a pk. I found them in the yarn aisle at wal-mart. As these are plastic if you do accidentaly poke your lil angel it wont hurt them, but i just took the yarn through the top elastic and left just a little piece connected then used the ribbon and twisted it in and out of the hair. Its rather easy a video tutorial to come soon promise.

I also did this on a 3 year old with very short very thin hair.

Hair Hair and more hair

My 5 year old daughter was blessed was the always wanted Goldilocks hair as I call it, Beautiful blond curls, we recently cut it, but it was all the way down to her bottom. I love her hair don't get me wrong. But after a little while, down up or pigtails just is not enough different hairstyles for a pretty little girl, So I'm beginning my Hairstyle ADVENTURE. We have already tried numerous different styles and tricks, and I'm in love I have found my latest addiction, finding new styles for my angels Hair.. And she is loving it as well, I have learned how to add ribbon to fest up any hair do, Ive learned the Star style (my daughters fav), We actually did a Christmas tree for Christmas, which I LOVED, it was better before i added the ribbon though, and that one I altered a bit from two other bloggers, I took one and mixed it with another, AND LOVED IT. I would advise before you join me on this expedition to Buy bobby pins, a bag of clear plastic elastics (the tiny tiny rubber bands) a few different colors in ribbon, and well ill post what you need as we go. But its fun, and well if you show your daughter what your doing and let them help choose they do sit better. Hope you enjoy our blog, will post as many pics as possible as we go :)
